Allg?u is an area in the Swabia area which is in the south of Germany. This region is connected to the Alps and it has two main rivers in it namely lller and Lech. The Allg?u is a popular tourist destination famous for its farming, the Alps, hiking in the mountain area and beautiful landscapes. The farming in the Allgovian region is popular for its dairy products like cheese. The Schwangau which is located on the eastern region of Allg?u offers a fascinating mountain experience. An amazing bird eye view of the Alps can be experienced at the station located on top of Mount Tegelberg. The mountain station can be accessed by the use of cable cars which operate daily. The entrance to the biggest nature reserve in Bavaria is also located at the top of Mount Tegelberg.
During the winter and the spring season, one can enjoy themselves by snowboarding and skiing on the best skiing areas which are spread all over the Alpines. One can also engage in the different winter sports available. Cycling, hiking in the mountains and paragliding are some of enjoyable outdoor activities that are associated with the summer season. In Allg?u there are many tourist destinations including the town of Kempten. The Kempten town is the biggest in the Allg?u region.
It is an old town with a lot of historical artworks and cultural heritages to offer. The differences between the Catholics and the Protestants had led to the splitting into two the town of Kempten. The remaining artefacts of this history can be seen in a presentation at the Erasmus Chapel on St. Mang-Platz square. The Erasmus Chapel on St. Mang-Platz square is an underground archaeological site with the state of the art lighting and sound technology to enable the people visiting to relive those times. There are also seven hundred skeletons on display which were found there. Kempten which is at the foot of the Alps also offers many outdoor activities that include paragliding, canoeing, cycling, golf, tennis and cross-country skiing.
There are also ancient places to visit like the fairy tale castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau in Oberstdorf just outside of Kempten. In Kempten town, there are more historical places like the Roman museum and the Cambodunum archaeological park. Allg?u is also known for its warm hospitality. Allg?u is home to many restaurants and cafes that offer amazing foods and the local Swabian cuisines.
